You don't need to be Columbus or Magellan to reach us. Our paradise is easily reached by regular charter flights from San Jose, Costa Rica's capital, to Tambor, where our first class staff will be waiting to take you on the brief drive to your tropical hideaway.
Transportation: Remoteness within easy reach...

Our resort is located approximately 110 miles from San Jose, and is accessible by air or automobile. Either way, visitors are presented with breathtaking views of Costa Rica's exotic plants and animals, ranging from an array of colors offered by rare jungle flowers to the antics of chattering treetop monkeys.

For the air traveler, regular charter flights are available from San Jose's International Airport, as well as the smaller Pavas Airport, to Tambor Airport. Air fares range from $45 - $60 per person, one way. Tambor Tropical offers free shuttle service between Tambor Airport and our resort (Please notify us in advance of your arrival time.). The following charter lines provide regular service between San Jose and Tambor:

For those guests wanting a more leisurely journey to our resort, rental cars are available at San Jose International Airport. To reach Tambor, visitors proceed from San Jose to Puntarenas - approximately a two hour drive. Puntarenas offers a ferry for vehicles (get there early!) and a passenger ferry to the Nicoya Peninsula. The car ferry and the passenger ferry land at Paquera, located approximately 35 minutes from Tambor. Each ferry runs a minimum of six times each day, however, guests are advised to check with resort staff for the most current ferry schedule, as the ferry times are subject to change. Those guests making only part of the trip by automobile will find bus and taxi service from either debarkation point to Tambor available.
